Dr. Jerald Vizzone

Dr Jerald Vizzone, Orthopaedic Surgeon

Jerald P. Vizzone D.O. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeons of New Jersey, who specializes in minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery-including endoscopic surgery of the cervical and lumbar spine. Dr. Vizzone treats all traditional orthopedic injuries with a focus on the shoulder, knee and spine.

His hospital affiliations include Clara Maass Medical Center, and the Orthopedic and Spine Institute of New Jersey.

Dr. Vizzone received his Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O) from the University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Kansas City, Missouri (now called Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences). He graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey, Cum Laude, University Honors Program, and Phi Zeta Kappa Honor Society. He then attended a graduate program at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Vizzone completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Cabrini Medical Center (New York Medical College) and Peninsula Hospital Center in New York City, and served as a Visiting Resident at the Alfred I. DuPont Institute, Wilmington, DE. He also completed one year of general surgery residency at PCOM in Philadelphia, PA, and an Osteopathic Internship at Metropolitan Hospital – Parkway Division also in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Vizzone is board certified (AOBOS) since October of 1998 and recertified June, 2008, and again in January, 2019.

In his free time, Dr. Vizzone enjoys spending time with his three children, vacationing in Miami, and spending time on his boat with family and friends. Recently, when the statue of Saint Gerard suffered a broken arm, Dr. Vizzone was asked and honored to repair the arm for the Feast of Saint Gennaro in Belleville, New Jersey.

Dr. Joseph Albano

Joseph Albano D.O., M.B.A. is an orthopaedic surgeon at Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeons of New Jersey. Dr. Albano treats all orthopedic conditions including injuries of the knee, shoulder, and fractures, with a specialty in spinal pathology, using the most up to date technology available.  

 

It is Dr. Albano’s philosophy that surgery should be a last resort after extensive conservative care has been exhausted. Dr. Albano focuses on listening to his patients carefully in order to tailor a thoughtful and individualized treatment plan for each patient’s specific symptoms.

 

Dr. Albano received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Albano then received a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biomedical Sciences at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB), completing his thesis in Neuron Growth and Regeneration. He stayed at KCUMB, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree, and was accepted into the Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honor Society. While in medical school, Dr. Albano also received his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Albano completed his orthopedic surgery training at the Plainview Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra, Northwell Health, in Long Island New York, where he was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Albano then went on to complete his fellowship in Spine Surgery at the world-renowned Texas Back Institute in the Dallas, Texas area. Here, he was trained in the most cutting-edge spine surgery techniques and technologies, including navigation and robotic assisted surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery techniques. At the Texas Back Institute, Dr. Albano trained with the world leaders in cervical and lumbar disc arthroplasty, and other motion preservation techniques of the spine, as an alternative to traditional fusion procedures.

 

In his free time, Dr. Albano likes to spend time with his family. He is an avid fan of Yankees and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoys skiing, cycling, and generally staying fit so that he can stay healthy and be a role model for his patients.

Angelica Parmegiani, Nurse Practitioner

Angelica Parmegiani

Angelica Parmegiani, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in orthopaedics and emergency medicine. She received both her Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, magna cum laude, and brings her orthopaedic skills and passion for patient care to Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeons of New Jersey.

 

Angelica earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2012 and returned to school two years later to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree, which she completed in 2018. She started in the medical field as a teenager volunteering in hospitals, and became a certified EMT for her hometown volunteer first aid squad. Before receiving her undergraduate degree, she completed an Internship at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation where she gained a personal appreciation for rehabilitation treatment for conditions such as traumatic spinal cord injuries, and other orthopaedic procedures. With her undergraduate degree, she worked as a registered nurse in various trauma and emergency nursing settings and held multiple leadership roles. Her doctoral degree clinical rotations and trauma nursing experience led her to realize her passion for orthopaedic spine, fracture care, sports medicine, and surgical care. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

 

Angelica is committed to forming trusting relationships with her patients through education and an individualized approach. She is a career learner and loves teaching her patients about personalized treatment plans that are suited to their specific needs. In her free time, Angelica appreciates traveling and experiencing new cultures, fitness, movies, books, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Ikira Easterling, Medical Assistant

Ikira Easterling M.A, R.N. is a medical assistant who works along with Dr. Albano, Dr Vizzone and Angelica Parmegiani at Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeons of New Jersey.

Ikira received her Medical Assistant certificate from Lincoln Tech in Iselin, New Jersey in 2014. She then went on to complete her BSN in nurse science at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey in 2018. Ikira is an integral part of the staff and is often referred to as the glue that holds the office together.

 

In her free time, Ikira enjoys spending her time with her three children, cuddling up with a good book, and participating in sports activities. Especially softball!
